It would be great to have a place to attach documents (eg Bank Statements, withholding tax certificates and so forth) that don't have a financial transaction to attach it to. It would be extra good if this 'place' could have the equivalent as index dividers. Then we could really go paperless :)

I work in Xero also and the storing documents is extremely valuable for storing employment contracts, first aid courses, IRD330 and Kiwi Saver forms, Tenancy Agreements, Property matters, bank statements, etc. Keeping everything in one place in invaluable. It has taken farm focus a long time to catch up. Looking forward to this feature.

Hi everyone,
Our development team are currently looking at what a document storage tool will look like in Farm Focus. We see a document storage tool as a place to store and share supporting documents for your farming business i.e. bank statements, RWT certificates, lease agreements etc
Question: Would you expect to be able to access documents that are attached to invoices and transactions (in Needs Action, Completed etc) from this area as well?

Jo - Farm Focus I currently have a separate folder in One drive that I save all my documents for the accountant. It could be a folder under Needs action but I would not like that area to get too busy. In our busy months it already is hard to sometimes see all our entries. Maybe a folder like where the completed transactions are.
I love the idea of being able automate sending these documents to folders in Farm focus, it would simplify the question of where did I file this?

Jo - Farm Focus I wouldn't want it to have all the files I have attached to transactions here. I like the above suggestion of being able to have sub folders eg 24/25 > shareholdings. Thanks

To answer your question Jo, There are some docs that might be attached to transactions that might also need to be in this area, such as LIC dividend statements or similar, I would imagine I would just attach the document to the transaction as well as save it in the 'new area' you are creating.

It would be really good to have somewhere we could attach the shareholding information and recent valuation and interest certificates for when the account picks up our farm focus date for the year end accounts.

It would be great to have an area where we can add attachment like bank statements etc for our accountants especially around year ends. That way it was a 1 stop shop for our accountant to get everything they need in 1 place keeping it all tidy.

A storage folder where you can upload files and accountants can access it like in xero so you can create a folder for financial year end and add any additional documents for year end accounting records
