Can we please have a template for stock codes so if needing to say add all Beef categories to a dairy client you can pull in correctly set up codes with all the aging & stock units set up- too hard & time consuming to set these up individually

You now have the ability to select multiple code list templates when creating a new database or add these templates to your existing database under Settings > Codes > Farm Codes.

Auto import of extended codes for a new Section

When client set up Farm Business they forgot to set up Deer as a Section option. As a result they are now required to manually enter the Section, Category and all extended codes. It would be helpful if clients can Set up a New Section e.g. Deer and all standard Extended Codes for that Section automatically enter into Focus

It would be really helpful & save a lot of time if there was a code template that you could copy some codes from to a client chart. For example when setting up a dairy farmer if he needs other stock groups like beef & sheep its such a pain to have to add all the individual age categories especially when having to add in the stock unit value etc as well- if there was a template you could copy down from would be a huge help, You dont seem to get the option to add in these other stock categories when setting up- no mixed option??

Hi Vicki, thanks for your feedback. We will keep this post open to monitor votes for prioritisation. However, many livestock farmers have quite specific livestock categories for their businesses and it would be difficult to choose what a "standard" one looks like. Customers can also pay $85+ GST/hour for this sort of specialised support from our support team to set up this information. Another option is look at one of the demo databases for guidance to see how the code lists are set up.

Hi Vicki, thanks for your feedback. New users will select to have a standard code list for Dairy and Sheep and Beef. Existing Rural users will have the codes they have set up in Cashmanager. At this stage we have help topics available with links to the IRD NAMV to assist users when it comes to inputting livestock values. It is difficult, however, when customers call their different stock categories non-standard names, for us to be able to select the correct livestock value for them. And there are users who will have specialised stock that hold different values altogether.
With regard to the mixed options: we are working on presenting more options for other farming types. In the meantime, the code list is fully editable and the KPI reporting groups help to split out other activities (cropping, bees, horticulture etc).

Farm focus: when setting up codes you dont have to know the values but do need to know the stock units, yield & the age to categories, These are things that are reasonably standard and would save so much time setting up if could at least have a template with all the normal age categories for Sales & purchases that we can then edit according to a clients needs

Vicki Worker: Hi Vicki, We will put this onto our backlog for development. There are some limitations for this - for example when a customer has a code for Trade Lambs or Grazing bulls etc, we are not to know what age these animals are.

Hi Tash, thank you for your feedback. Being able to set up a Code Section via a template is a great idea and one we have in our backlog. We are not currently working on this feature but will advise you when its status changes.
